Street shopping !

Image
For this Christmas I wanted to do something different, something meaningful. So I decided to buy accessories at small shops for the festival. Due to pandemic small businesses suffered a lot. For months nobody stepped out and their business was very dull. So i decided to buy the things from them instead of going to big malls. So there is a nearby place where we have a street shopping area which is spread across 2 to 3 kms. I have heard about it from friends but never visited. So I took a chance and went there to buy some things. I was beginning to feel good as i didn't step out from the house since months. It was like totally cut off with the outside world. It was just me and my work battling together behind the closed doors. So this shopping time gave me a chance to be among people once again. So i have started shopping from the first shop and explored every shop in that area until I'm tired. I actually went there to buy black metal accessories which I'm planning to wear fo

Marriages can wait !

Image
Girls are not allowed to study in economically poor families and in some  rural areas. They think that girls are born just to get married and is a source of extension for their families. Parents of girls believe that if a girl is  married at young age, then the dowry will be less and so the burden.  Girls are always considered as burden by their parents and they get least priority in everything they do. They are not allowed to go to school because their parents can't afford fees of three children. They can't eat their favourite food because they are girls. They are not allowed to talk loud in public because they are girls. In fact they are not allowed to do anything which their brothers do. At the age of playing with other children, most of the girls are sent away by their parents in the name of marriage.  When a girl is married at early age, her life changes completely forever. At the age of holding books, she becomes an expert in making Roti's for her extended in-laws f

Rag Pickers !

Image
Do you think this kid deserves to pick up waste instead of books? There are many rag pickers in our country who doesn’t know that schools exist, they don't know about nutritious food, they don't know about fancy clothes, they don't know what a home looks like. All they know is to pick up trash and wander near trash mountains. Their day starts with searching for trash and ends dragging it to their vendor. They pick up plastic bottles and bottle caps which they sell it for 5 to 10 rupees to buy their food. That's the most valuable possession they earn for a day.  Most of them live on streets and slums. These kids are abandoned by their family members, some ran away from their parents because they don't want to go to school and some are missing kids. Many of them live and die in that garbage. No one notices when they are born, and no one cries when they die due to hazardous waste. It is just the sound of that plastic bottles and their caps which makes constant noise in

Abandoned Villages !

There are still so many villages where people don’t have proper houses, proper education, sanitation, roads and electricity. Agriculture has always been their livelihood, but now because of low economic conditions they became daily wagers within their villages and most of them are migrated to other places, and when they migrate they are leaving everything behind which was close to their hearts for the betterment of their families as they are facing lot of troubles for basic needs in their own villages. The people once lived a descent lives are doing odd jobs now. Rural people never asked us to do any help to them. But they always gave us so much. They do agriculture for us, they get low profits, but they never stopped growing grains for us. They never expected anything in return.  We need them in every day of our life, without them no one can survive in this world. Yet we forget them as if they don't exist around us. We were not there with them when they were dying, we were not t
